Reentry permit
Once you exit Thailand, your acquired visa falls into abeyance even if its permitted duration of stay might be remaining. To avoid this, it is necessary to acquire a reentry permit before exiting Thailand.
There are two types of reentry permit, i.e. single permit (1 time only of entry into/exit from the country; public office’s service charge 1,000 baht) and multiple permit (entry into/exit from the country as many times as you like; public office’s service charge 3,800 baht).
The reentry permit’s period of validity applies with modifications to that of the visa. On the occasions of first-time application and renewal, necessary per examination period and period after examination
Therefore, it is to be considered, in view of the period or the year’s plan, which of single and multiple costs less public office’s service charge.
A reentry permit is acquirable at the Immigration at the timing of visa acquisition or at Suvarnabhumi International Airport before exiting the country.
